MANDATORY USE OF PROTECTIVE FACE MASK FOR PASSENGERS ABOVE 12 YEARS OLD ON BUSES AND USEFUL PREVENTION TIPS FROM COVID-19 FOR SAFE JOURNEYS!

Notification pursuant to Regulation 8 (1) of the Decontamination Decree (Definition of Measures to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus COVID-19) Decree

The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, based on Regulation 8 (1) of the Infectious Disease (Definition of Measures to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus COVID-19) Decree (No. 20) of 2022 (KDP 186/2022 ) issues the following guidelines:

1. Public Passenger Transport:
The maximum number of passengers that can be transported by Public Transport - M.D.M. (Regular passenger buses with fare per passenger, E-Licensed Buses, Buses used for shuttle services to and from airports (shuttle), taxis, as well as private buses, which have a road use license, in all districts of Cyprus, is defined as the licensed capacity of each vehicle, i.e. up to 100% of the capacity of the vehicle in compliance with the provisions of paragraphs 3 and 4.

2. Private Passenger Transport:
Private vehicles can be ridden by people from different households, depending on the capacity of the vehicle, with the use of a mask necessary.

3. Additional instructions for Public Passenger Transportation by bus:
3.1. All necessary measures are taken to avoid overcrowding during boarding and disembarking.
3.2. Buses must be cleaned at regular intervals. Cleaning on all buses must be done with special care, especially on frequently touched surfaces such as handles, handles, metal surfaces, seat belts, rails, etc., using disinfectants and materials recommended by the Ministry of Health.

4. Use of Protective Mask:
The use of a face mask by public transport workers and persons aged 12 and over who ride on all regular passenger buses with a fare per passenger, as well as on all means of public transport (taxis, tour buses, closed-door services shuttles to and from airports (shuttle), continues to be mandatory in all districts.

USEFUL PREVENTION TIPS FROM COVID-19 FOR SAFE JOURNEYS!

👉 The use of a protective face mask on buses for passengers above 12 years old remains compulsory for the better protection of yourselves, other passengers and our drivers. Passengers above 12 years old that do not wear a face mask will not be allowed on the bus! The use of a protective face mask is also mandatory for bus drivers!

👉 Always keep a safe distance from other passengers when you are waiting at the bus stop for the bus to come.

👉 Use the antibacterial gel which is available on all of our buses, to clean your hands when you enter the bus.

👉 Always keep a safe distance from other passengers when you are waiting at the bus stop for the bus to come.

👉 Use a single line of seats per person, if possible.

👉 Avoid contact (speaking and touching) with other passengers during your journey.

👉 Avoid touching your mouth, nose and face.

👉 If you sneeze or cough, use a disposable tissue or your sleeve at the elbow height to cover your mouth and nose. If you use a disposable tissue keep it with you and throw it away when you exit the bus.

👉 For everyone’s safety, do not throw any rubish on the bus. Dispose all your rubish when you exit the bus.

👉 When you exit the bus, wash your hands with water and soap for 20 seconds, or use an antibacterial gel. Take off your face mask and throw it away or store it in a safe way to avoid cross contamination.
